The pharaoh was seen by these people as a god.
The work was pushing large blocks all-day long, for a number of years, until the pyramid was completed.
Then another project would start, another pyramid somewhere.

You would think nothing like this happens nowadays.
In fact, people are still spending their lives building pyramids for someone else.
They don’t push heavy blocks of stone. They push around blocks of information.
They replace the pharaoh with another god and today’s pyramids look more like this….
The new pharaohs are called Google, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, or Nvidia.
They still want their pyramids built, no matter the cost.
And people are still willing to spend their lives building them.
